I was just talking with a friend the other day about this book I got from the library. I think it should be required reading for those who have never read it. In it, the author tells the story of Chaplin and Gonet.
As you probably know, Chaplin was a very famous Hollywood comedian. The movie “The Great Dictator” was based on his life and career, and he was one of the most beloved and famous comic actors of all time. But it was in a way his life and career that also inspired the film of the same name, which was a horror movie starring Lon Chaney. He also did some acting in the silent era, but it was a lot different from his comedy roles.
The film Chaplin and Gonet is actually a lot more popular with horror fans, but it’s worth noting that the film that started it all was a very different film to the one we’re currently watching. In Chaplin and Gonet, a man named John W. Gordon has been searching for his son, Billy, for two years, and has finally found him. He comes to a home in the middle of nowhere, and they discover that Billy is in terrible shape.
It’s a little bit strange to see John Gordon so upset. Not only has he been searching for his son, but also for the last of his money, and in the process of searching for him, he found out that Billy had been the reason for the death of his wife. However, he now feels that his son is dead for good because all of those years he’s been searching for him and he had nothing to live for.
Yes! For the very first time in over a hundred years, I actually feel like I could actually hug John Gordon and let him know that I’m really sorry for what he’s been through and how he’s been searching for his son. Like, he’s a good dad.
I loved how Gonet had to talk to Chaplin to not kill him or the other Visionaries. It was a great line to read for me. It is interesting how in our modern era of so-called self-awareness we have to deal with so many things that are outside of our control. Billy being the point man in Chaplin’s search, and being the reason for Chaplin’s death, is a good example.
The scene in the new trailer where Gonet and Chaplin go to the beach to get some clothes out of the closet was also pretty powerful. I loved the scene when they’re getting dressed up in the white suit and the red shirt, and then the shot to the beach with a shot of the sea and it suddenly becomes crystal clear to them that they’re on a different island. They are on a different time-loop, and so they can’t remember their own past.
Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s a ton of great gameplay that will be available for Deathloop, but the biggest difference between the first Deathloop trailer and the new one is not just the gameplay, but the tone. The tone is definitely darker, more serious and intense than the first Deathloop trailer. While that might seem like a good thing, it also means that Deathloop will have a darker and more ominous tone than the first trailer.
The thing the new Deathloop trailer has going for it is that it really does look like Deathloop. It really does look like a game in the vein of Deus Ex and its predecessor Deus Ex: The Fall and is definitely reminiscent of Deus Ex. But that is just what makes the difference. This trailer is also more stylized and cinematic, making it look as vibrant and murderous as it is with its stylized and cinematic style.
The trailer looks more cinematic and stylized than the first Deathloop trailer, but it still looks more like Deus Ex: The Fall. That’s because the last trailer was a really cinematic and stylized trailer, and I think the new Deathloop trailer is likely to be an even more stylized and cinematic trailer.
