I used to think that there were three levels of self-awareness. I thought it was a way of life. I didn’t know what it meant and I didn’t really apply it to anything else.
Now I know more than I did before.
According to the book The Self-Awareness Advantage by Brett McKnight and David A.
The Self-Awareness Advantage is a book that explains why we develop certain behaviors and preferences and why these behaviors and preferences are advantageous to us. The book states that we are able to make up for the negatives of our past experiences, and that the “self-aware” behaviors we’ve developed allow us to navigate the world more successfully.
It’s not that people can’t learn from their mistakes. The reason we tend to make these mistakes is because we weren’t even aware of a particular behavior. We just went with the flow, which is why we can learn from our mistakes.
Now I’m not saying that people who can change their behaviors (or choose not to) aren’t great people, I’m just saying that we shouldnt judge the behaviors that are beneficial to the most people.
In the previous video I mentioned that the people who are best able to change their behaviors or choose not to are those who are the most self-aware. Now I want to elaborate on that a little bit. People who choose not to make mistakes are more likely to be better people.
The truth is, we are more likely to make decisions that are based on a few criteria than we are to make decisions based on a lot of criteria. We like to think that we are better people than we really are. That is why it is so important to have a few criteria that you are willing to change your behavior based on.
This is not a new concept. I like to talk about how we are more likely to make choices based on a few criteria than we are to make choices based on a much larger set of criteria. It is an important concept to talk about as we go through our life. The more you can be aware of your decisions, the more you can be aware of how they play into several other decisions you might make in the future.
